Ambika Cement Sappliers

We spend most of our days here at Sadar Bazar right by the Ambika Krishi Farm. It is a dusty kind of life working at Ambika Cement Sappliers but it is what we do. The shop is located out on Tehsil Road where the trucks are always passing by and kicking up dirt. We have stacks of cement bags piled up under the big shed. My clothes are usually covered in a thin layer of gray powder by noon. It gets really hot during the summer months and the tin roof does not help much with the heat. We just sit on the plastic chairs and wait for the local builders or the farmers to come by needing a few bags for a repair job. Sometimes we have to help load them into the back of a small truck or onto a tractor. It is heavy work and my back feels it by the end of the week. There is a small tea stall just down the road where we get our drinks in the morning. The location is convenient because it is right near the farm entrance. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment here, just the basic stuff for moving the stock around. When the monsoon starts, we have to be quick with the tarps because getting the cement wet is a disaster. It is a simple life and we know most of the people who come through. We keep the gate open until late evening most days.
