Millenium Marbles

Millenium Marbles is out in Village Athal at Survey No 269/1/1/1/1/3. It’s a bit of a trek for some, being near Po Naroli and right opposite Prince Pipe, but we have the space out here that you just can't get in the middle of a city. Our yard is quite large, which is necessary for the amount of marble we keep on hand. The air in Athal is a bit quieter than the main town, though we still have the sound of trucks and our crane moving things around. We spend our days unloading heavy slabs and organizing them by color and type. It’s a very physical job and you have to be careful with how you handle the stone. Marble can be fragile before it’s installed. We don't have a fancy front office with air conditioning. Usually, if you come to see us, you’ll find us out among the stacks of stone. We talk to people about what they are looking for and show them the best pieces we have at the time. It’s a very straightforward way of doing business. People usually come to us because they have a specific project in mind and need a lot of material. We’ve been at this location for a while now and the village has become home for our business. It’s not a glamorous life, but there is something satisfying about seeing the raw stone.
