Over in the Argi Sarpatibirohi area of Mirzapur, we have the D.K.Dubey Farmers Producer Company Limited. Suresh Kumar Dubey is the one who keeps things moving from his place. Mirzapur is known for many things, but for us, it is all about the soil and the crops we can grow. This company is named after the family and it reflects how we do things—personally. We don't have a big corporate structure. It is more like a group of friends and family working toward the same goal. When we meet at Suresh Kumar Dubey’s place, we talk about the reality of the season. If the pests are bad or the water is low, we figure out a plan. It is a very down-to-earth way of running a business. We don't use big words or make grand claims. We just want to make sure our produce is handled right. The area of Sarpatibirohi is beautiful but the work is hard. You can see the sweat and the effort in every bag of grain we move. We are proud of where we are from. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and talk to whoever is there. Most of us have dirt under our fingernails because we were just out in the fields ourselves. It is a community effort to keep our local farming alive and well. We just take it as it comes, season by season, and try to do our best for our neighbors.
