Seedhi Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is based over in Saro, which is part of the Gopad Vanas area in Sidhi. We operate out of Raj Mani Kushwaha’s place. It’s a simple setup, really. We are just local farmers who decided it was time to work together more closely. Farming on your own is getting harder every year with costs going up and prices staying low. By forming this company, we can buy what we need in bulk and help each other find better markets for what we grow. We grow the usual things you find around here, mostly crops that suit the soil in this part of Madhya Pradesh. Most mornings start early, checking on the fields and then meeting up to see what needs doing. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us, the people who actually get their hands dirty. Sometimes the paperwork gets a bit confusing, but we manage. If you come by Saro, you’ll see us working. We know the land well because we’ve lived here our whole lives. We don’t make big promises, we just try to get through the season and make sure everyone gets a bit more for their hard work than they would have on their own. It's about looking out for each other in the village and making sure our kids have a reason to stay in farming and don't feel they have to leave for the city.
