Tourism Scouts India

We are tucked away in Shimla, right near the Aptech Computer building in Lakkar Bazar. If you’ve ever walked through the 171001 area, you know how busy the streets can get with all the people and the local shops. Our office for Tourism Scouts India is a pretty simple place where we keep our maps and a few travel books. We spend a lot of our time just sitting here answering questions for people who want to see the mountains. It gets quite chilly in the mornings, so the first thing we usually do is make a big pot of tea to share. We don’t have a flashy storefront with neon lights or anything like that. Instead, it’s just a small space with a few desks where we try to keep things organized. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times we just watch the people walking by outside towards the bazaar. We know the local roads well because we live here too. We aren't a big corporation with fancy uniforms; it’s just a few of us who know a thing or two about the area. We try to be honest about the travel times because the mountain roads can be tricky and the weather changes fast. It is a bit cramped when we have a lot of gear or bags around, but we make it work. We just do our thing and try to help folks find their way around the hills.
