Neelkanth Bar N Resto

Up here in Shimla, things move a little differently. Neelkanth Bar N Resto is located in Baba Market, which is near the AG Office and the Mall Road. We are close to the Landmark, so we are pretty easy to find if you are walking around. The air is usually crisp, but inside the resto, it stays warm. I started this place because I liked the idea of a spot where people could get out of the cold for a bit. It is a local place, mostly. We get some tourists when the weather is nice, but it is the residents who keep us going throughout the year. The interior is a bit dark, with wooden panels that have seen better days, but it feels right for Shimla. I spend my days managing the bar and making sure the kitchen has not run out of supplies. Getting goods up the hills can be a challenge sometimes, especially when it snows or the roads are blocked. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to open the doors every morning and have enough for everyone who comes in. The floorboards creak a little when you walk on them, and the lighting is a bit dim, but people seem to like it that way. It is just a simple bar and restaurant on Mall Road. We do our work, chat with the neighbors, and watch the seasons change.
