Karol Sons Cafe

Up here in Shimla, the weather dictates a lot of what we do. Karol Sons Cafe is located on the road toward New Shimla, specifically in the BCS area. It’s a small place, nothing too grand. We started it because we wanted a spot where people could grab a hot drink and escape the wind for a bit. The windows look out onto the road, and when it’s foggy, you can barely see the cars going by. We get a lot of kids from the school nearby and people living in the apartments around here. It’s mostly just coffee, some tea, and snacks that we pull together in the kitchen. The wooden tables get a bit scratched up, but they’ve got character. Sometimes the power goes out when the snow is heavy, and we just light some candles and keep going. It’s a cozy little spot, maybe a bit cramped when it’s full, but that makes it warmer. We don’t have a big corporate team behind us, just a few of us who live nearby and show up every morning to open the shutters. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the busy afternoons when the school lets out. If you’re passing through New Shimla and your hands are cold, we’re usually here with the kettle on. It’s not fancy, but we like it that way. Anyway, stop by if you're around.
