Yellamma Communications

We are located over at Door No G8 in the Vamshi Estate building, right there where the Peter England shop is in Ameerpet. This part of Hyderabad is always moving and there is a lot of noise from the street, but we have been working from this spot for some time now. Yellamma Communications is mostly about handling mobile phones and whatever people need for their devices. People come in with broken screens or when their battery isn't holding a charge like it used to. We spend a lot of time sitting at the bench looking through magnifying glasses at small parts. It’s a busy area so we see a lot of students from the nearby hostels and office folks stopping by on their way to work. The shop isn't very big, but we have enough space for the counters and the repair tools we use every day. We don't really do anything fancy here, just basic service and selling things like chargers or covers. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just wait it out or use the backup. It gets dusty because of the main road, so cleaning the glass cases is a daily chore that never ends. We just try to get the work done so people can have their phones back. There’s no big corporate office or anything, just us in this room in Ameerpet. Most days are the same, just opening up in the morning and seeing who walks through the door with a problem.
