Vijay Granites

Our place is spread across two plots, 56 and 57, right in Padmarao Nagar Colony. It’s a bit of a residential area, so we have to be careful about making too much noise early in the morning. We’ve been here in this part of ECIL for quite a few years now. The yard is usually full of granite slabs leaning against each other. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. If you want to see a specific color at the back, we usually have to move five other pieces first. It’s a lot of physical work, but we’re used to it. My cousin helps out with the lifting and the deliveries. We have an old truck that’s seen better days, but it still gets the stone where it needs to go. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the business. People from the colony often walk by and peak in. Sometimes they’re just curious, and sometimes they actually need a piece of stone for a shelf. We try to be helpful without being pushy. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the crane is running. We just focus on keeping the slabs in good shape and making sure we don't mix up the orders. It’s a small operation, but it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. We just do our work and go home.
