In Chikkadpally, Hyderabad, there is a small lane called Kallepally Brothers Lane. That is where we are, at 1-1287/19/F, Street No : 3, in the Bapu Nagar area. Tirumala Hair Cutting And Saloon is a humble little shop that serves the local people living around here. It is not on a main road, so you have to know where you are going to find us. The lane is narrow, and you can often hear the neighbors talking or the sound of a scooter passing by. Inside, we have a few old-fashioned barber chairs and a big mirror that covers most of the wall. We don't have a fancy website or any social media pages. People just know we are here because their fathers or brothers told them about us. The shop stays fairly cool because of the way the building is tucked away from the direct sun. We start the day by cleaning the mirrors and setting out the towels. There is a small bench for people to sit on while they wait. We see all kinds of people, from young kids getting their first cut to the older men who have been living in Bapu Nagar for decades.
