Sai Balaji Hair Saloon

We've been here at Shop No SRT 171 in Jawhar Nagar for a good while now. Most people know us because we’re right beside the line of the Axis Bank ATM. It's a busy spot in Hyderabad 500020. I open up the shutters early in the morning, usually before the rush starts. The chairs are old but they work fine. We do mostly hair cutting and shaves for the men around here. You see the same faces every week. It’s a small place, nothing fancy. Sometimes the ATM line gets long and people pop in just to sit for a bit or ask for change. We don't mind. The mirrors need a wipe every few hours because of the dust from the road. Jawhar Nagar stays active all day. I usually keep some old newspapers on the side table for folks waiting. It’s just me and a couple of others working the scissors. We don’t have an AC, just the ceiling fans that keep the air moving. If you’re looking for the place, just look for the bank sign and we’re right there. People come in, get their hair trimmed, talk about the weather or the news, and then head out. That’s how it goes. No big deal. We keep our tools clean and the floor swept as much as we can between customers. It’s a basic shop for basic needs. We don't try to be anything else. Most days are just spent here with the sounds of the street and the bank customers outside.
