Laxmi Architect & Interior Designer

My office is tucked away in Gandhi Nagar, specifically in the Ashok Nagar area. If you are looking for it, I always tell people to find the Canara Bank first because it is right near there. Being an architect and interior designer means my space is usually a bit of a mess. I have rolls of drawings everywhere and samples of tiles or wood sitting on every flat surface. It’s not the neat, pristine office you might see in a magazine. It’s a working space where things actually get built. I spend a lot of time out at sites, so I’m not always at my desk, but when I am, I’m usually squinting at a floor plan. The building here is older, which I actually prefer because it has a bit of character. The windows let in some good light in the afternoon, even if they rattle when a heavy truck goes by. I don’t have a big staff, so if the phone rings, I’m usually the one picking it up. It can be a bit chaotic balancing the creative side with the actual construction parts, but that is just the nature of the job. I like the bustle of this part of Hyderabad. It keeps me energized. There’s always someone moving something or fixing something on this street, which feels right for what I do. It’s just how I work.
