Tarashankar Traders

We are located in Islampur, right near Rit College in the Tehsil Walwa area. Having the college so close means there is always something going on nearby and plenty of activity. A lot of students and locals pass by our doors every single day. We started this trading business a few years back and it keeps us busy enough to stay out of trouble. The shop isn't very big at all, but we pack it full with whatever we’re trading at the moment. You can usually find one of us sitting by the front counter waiting for the next person to come in. We deal with various goods that people in Islampur need for their daily work or homes. Some days are slow, especially when the college is on break and the streets are quiet, but then it picks right back up again. We don't have a big website or any of that modern stuff. People just know us from being in the neighborhood for so long. The morning starts early here with sweeping the front step and getting things ready. Sometimes the rain makes the road a bit messy and muddy, but that's just how it is in this part of Walwa. We try to keep a decent stock so people don't have to go too far to find what they need. It’s a straightforward way to make a living and we enjoy it. We talk to the same delivery drivers every week. It feels like a small community.
