Springdale School

Springdale School sits on the Main Road in Shirala, right near the N.H.-4. Being so close to the highway means there is always a lot of traffic passing by, but the school is set back far enough that it stays okay for the classes. We have been part of this community for several years, and most of our students come from the town or the villages nearby. The post office is just a short walk away, which makes us easy to find. The school building is a sturdy old structure with a yard in the front where we hold our events. Our teachers have been with us for a long time, so they know the families and the siblings of the kids they are teaching. We do not have a big budget for fancy equipment, so we just focus on keeping the classrooms in good shape and making sure the benches are comfortable. During the rainy season, the yard gets a bit muddy, but the children do not seem to mind it much. We follow the regular school schedule and try to get through the lessons without too much fuss. Sometimes we have small gatherings where parents come to see what the kids have been working on. It is practical, honest work. We teach them what they need to know for their exams and try to keep them disciplined. It is a long walk for some of the kids, but they usually show up with a smile.
