Our office is in Sambalpur, tucked away in the P&T Colony in Binakhandi. We are at Quarter number IV/3. It belongs to Mr. B.L. Singh from the administration side. It is a government-style colony, so everything looks quite similar and the buildings have that old, sturdy feel. There are a lot of old trees around and the roads are a bit bumpy. Working from a colony quarter means things are pretty relaxed. We don't have a big lobby or a receptionist. You just walk in and we are there at our desks. Sambalpur can be very quiet, and our street is no exception most days. We mostly handle the paperwork for the area and talk to the drivers who come by to check their papers. Sometimes the internet is slow, so we have to wait a bit to send emails or just do something else. We take our lunch breaks together and usually share what we brought from home. It is a small team here. The district office is not too far, but we mostly stay put and focus on our specific tasks. We’ve got a small calendar on the wall and a lot of pens that always seem to go missing when you need them. It is a humble place to work, but we get the job done without much fuss. If the weather is nice, we leave the door open for some breeze and just keep at it until the day ends.
