Grasim Cement

Our office is in Sambalpur, right near the railway line by the Fatak. We are in the Budharaja area, pin code 768004. You can hear the trains passing by all day and night, which becomes a background noise you eventually stop noticing. We work for Grasim Cement from this location. It is a very basic office. We have some metal desks and a couple of computers that have seen better days. The floors are concrete and we try to keep the place tidy, but with the railway nearby, a bit of soot always finds its way in. We manage the distribution of cement for this part of Odisha. It involves a lot of phone calls and checking on truck deliveries. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, maybe just an old calendar and some maps. The staff is local and we mostly speak the local language among ourselves. When it rains during the monsoon, the sound on the roof is quite loud. We usually have some tea in the afternoon to keep us going. It is a very straightforward, no-nonsense kind of workplace. We don't have any mission statements or corporate goals posted anywhere. We just want to get the orders processed and the trucks out on time. It is an honest living in a busy part of Sambalpur. We've been here for a good while.
