We have been running this seed shop at Balaji Nivas in Chinnusamy Nagar for quite some time now. It is a busy spot here in Seelanaickenpatty, and most days start early with farmers stopping by to see what we have in stock for the season. We keep a lot of different seeds on the shelves because every farmer has their own way of doing things. Sometimes people just come in to talk about the weather or how the crops are doing down the road. It is not a very big place, but we try to keep it organized so everyone can find what they need without too much trouble. My father started things out and now we just keep it going as best as we can. We spend a lot of time checking the bags and making sure everything is labeled right. It gets a bit dusty in here with all the sacks around, but that is just part of the job. Most of the people who come here are our neighbors from around Salem. We know most of them by name. It is nice to see the same faces every year when it is time to plant again. We are usually here from morning until the sun goes down, just sorting through things and making sure the shop stays open for whoever needs us. It is simple work, but it keeps us busy and we like being part of the farming community around here.
