Sri Sailanka Coffee

Our shop is at 45 Sankari Main Road, over in the Annathanapatti area. It’s a busy part of town and the road outside is always full of trucks and bikes making a lot of noise. We spend a lot of time at Sri Sailanka Coffee just managing the inventory and making sure the coffee beans are handled right. It’s mostly manual work, like lifting heavy bags and filling up the containers for customers. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything like that. People usually just come to the counter, tell us what they need, and we get it for them while they wait. The building is a bit old and the paint is peeling in some spots, but it doesn't really matter for what we do. We start early, usually before the sun is fully up, to get the roasting done before it gets too hot inside. The smell of the coffee is really strong in the morning hours. Sometimes we run out of certain types of beans if the delivery from the estates is delayed, but we try to keep enough in stock for everyone. The guys working here are mostly from around this neighborhood. We take our breaks together and usually just talk about random things happening in town. It’s a steady job and we’ve been here long enough that we don't really think about moving.
