Sps Engineering Works

You can find Sps Engineering Works at No 13, Tanmag Road, over in the Jayanagar part of Kannankurichi. It’s a bit out of the way for some, but we’ve been here long enough that people find us. The shop floor is where everything happens. We have a few lathes and some welding gear that have seen better days but still work just fine. My boots are usually covered in dust by ten in the morning, and that’s just how it goes. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings, whoever is closest to it picks it up. We do a lot of small jobs for people around Jayanagar, and some bigger stuff too when it comes in. The roof leaks a little when it rains hard, so we have to move the materials around, but we manage. It’s not a polished environment. There are calendars from three years ago still hanging on the walls. We don't use much fancy language to describe what we do. It’s just engineering work—cutting, bending, and joining bits of metal together until they look like what the customer asked for. We work until the light fades and then we lock the big metal doors. Tanmag Road is quiet at night, and we’re back at it again the next morning. It’s just how we operate. Sometimes the neighbor's dog comes over to sleep in the shade of our doorway, and we don't mind it at all.
