Industrial Engineering

Our shop, Mahalingam Engineering Works, is located at 109, Line Road in Gugai. It is a busy little area and we have been working out of this space for quite a while now. The noise of the machines is pretty much constant from morning until we close up for the evening. We do various types of engineering jobs, mostly repair work and making parts that people bring in. It is not a very big place, so things can get a bit tight when we have several projects going on at the same time. You will usually find grease on our hands and metal shavings on the floor, which is how an engineering shop should look anyway. Line Road gets a lot of people passing through, so we see a lot of familiar faces from around Gugai. We do not have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the lathes and the welding equipment. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because a machine acts up, but we just stay late and finish it. There is nothing fancy about how we do things here. We just take the measurements, cut the metal, and make sure it fits like it is supposed to. People know us as the local guys who can fix their tools or make a replacement part without making a big fuss about it. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
