Rmg Machines

We are located at number 20 in the Electrical and Electronic Industrial Estate on Kannagi Street. Suramangalam is a busy place, and being in the estate means we are surrounded by other people doing similar work. We focus on making machines for different industries. It’s not very glamorous work, but it’s what we know how to do. The workshop is usually a bit cluttered with parts and tools, but we know where everything is. My brother and I took over the business a few years back. We learned everything from watching our father work on the shop floor. Most of our days are spent checking measurements and making sure the motors are fitted correctly. We don’t have a big front office or a receptionist. If someone comes by, they usually just walk straight into the work area and find one of us. We drink a lot of coffee to keep going, especially when we have a big order to finish. The weather here can get pretty sticky, so we have a few big fans blowing all day long. It helps a bit, but you still end up sweating through your shirt. We like being part of this industrial estate because if we need a specific bolt or a piece of wire, there is usually someone nearby who has it. It’s a good community of workers. We just try to do a solid job and keep the machines running like they are supposed to.
