We sit right on Cuddalore Main Road, across from the government school. It's dusty here sometimes, but we keep things moving. We fill bottles. It’s a lot of physical work day in and day out. My cousin helps out when he isn't busy with his own farm work. We started small a few years ago. The building isn't fancy at all. It’s just a plain place with a roof that leaks a bit when the monsoon is heavy. People stop by when they pass through Odapatti on their way to the city. We focus on getting the crates loaded onto the trucks. Sometimes the truck is late, and we just wait and drink tea in the shade. We’ve been at No. 1/325 for a while now. The school kids are always noisy in the afternoon when they get out. It reminds us of the time to start wrapping up for the day. We aren't doing anything world-changing here, just bottling what needs bottling. The machinery hums all day and makes a steady rhythmic sound. You get used to the noise after a week or two. If you're looking for us, look for the big blue gates that don't quite close right. We try to keep the yard tidy, though it's hard with all the traffic coming through. We just want to do our jobs and go home to our families. It’s honest work. There isn't any more to it than that. We don't have a fancy office or a secretary. Usually, one of us just comes out to the gate if someone knocks.
