My Toonz School Of Animation

We are over here on Rajaji Street in Salem, right in the Swarnapuri area. It is a busy spot but we have our space set up for the students. Some people think animation is just for kids but we see all sorts of folks coming through the door. We have a handful of computers and some drawing boards that have seen better days. The building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a regular place where we get work done. Most days start with us turning on the fans and getting the systems booted up. There is a lot of trial and error here. Students sit for hours trying to get a character to walk right or a light to look natural. It gets quiet when everyone is focused. Sometimes we grab tea from the shop down the road when the rendering takes too long. We don't have a big cafeteria or anything, just a small corner for bags and lunches. It’s mostly about putting in the time with the software. We’ve been at this address for a bit now and people in the neighborhood know us as the place with the cartoons on the screens. It’s a practical setup. We try to keep the chairs comfortable because sitting all day is hard. The walls have some old sketches pinned up. It feels like a workshop most of the time. We just keep the doors open and stay busy with the classes every day.
