Moulika Cafe

You can find Moulika Cafe at 1166, Mettur Road. We are very close to the South Indian Bank, which is handy because their customers often come over for a drink while they wait. The cafe is a small place with a few tables and chairs that don't quite match. We didn't spend much on the decor; we just wanted a place where people could sit down for a bit. The kitchen area is tight, and it gets very hot when we have everything running at once. Mettur Road is always loud with buses and cars, so we usually have some music playing to drown out the traffic. We serve coffee and snacks throughout the day. The walls are covered with some old photos and a calendar that’s a few months out of date. We handle everything ourselves, from making the tea to sweeping the front step every morning. It’s a simple life. We have our regulars who come in at the same time every day and sit in the same chairs. We know their orders before they even speak. Sometimes we run out of things if the delivery is late, and we just have to tell people we’re sorry. It isn't a perfect system, but it works for us. We’re just a small local cafe trying to stay busy and keep the tea hot. The bank staff usually stops by before they close up for the day.
