Golden Signs

Being located right on Trichy Main Road in Dasanaickenpatti means there is never a quiet moment. Golden Signs is tucked away at Plot No.2/285, and if you know this part of town, you know how the traffic can be. We spend our mornings setting up the shop and checking on orders from the previous day. Most of our time is spent with tools in hand, cutting materials or fixing bits of vinyl. It’s loud because of the road noise, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. The floor is usually messy with scraps of plastic and metal by noon, and we try to sweep it up before the next person walks in. It isn't a corporate office with air conditioning and fancy chairs. It’s a workshop where we get our hands dirty. We deal with whatever weather comes our way, from the heavy rain to the summer heat that makes the metal sheets hot to touch. Our neighbors are mostly other small shops, so we all know each other’s business. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the real work happens on the big tables in the back. If you come by, you’ll probably see us mid-project, maybe with a cup of tea sitting on a workbench. That’s just how we run things here on the main road. It is simple work but it keeps us very busy.
