Dinesh Coffee Mart

Being at number 23 in Sevaipettai means there is always something going on outside. Dinesh Coffee Mart is just a small place where we handle coffee. We spend most of our hours around the grinding machine. It makes a lot of noise, but you get used to it after a week. The smell of the beans is everywhere, even in our clothes when we go home. We don't have fancy decorations or big signs. It’s mostly just the bags of raw beans and the roasted ones waiting to be moved. Sevaipettai is a busy area, so there’s always a lot of dust and people moving around. We try to keep the place tidy, but when you’re dealing with coffee powder, it gets everywhere. Our counter is old and the floor is a bit uneven, but it’s been that way for years. We know most of the people who come in. They don’t want a long talk, just their coffee so they can get back to work. We don’t try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a mart for coffee. Some days are slow and we just sit and watch the traffic go by on the street. Other days, we can’t keep up with the grinding. It’s a good way to make a living. We’ve been here long enough that the building feels like a second home to us. It is just a normal shop for regular folks around here.
