My work as a civil engg takes me all over the Pennagaram area in Dharmapuri. I’m based in V. Muther village, which is part of the Kittamppatti post office area. It’s a very rural part of the world, and that’s how I like it. My office is basically wherever my bike takes me that day, though I do all my main drawing and planning at my home base with the 636809 pin code. I help people in these villages get their construction projects off the ground. It’s a lot of small-scale stuff, like single-family homes or local shops, but it’s important to the people here. I spend a lot of time talking to farmers and local residents about what they want to build. I have to be very practical because resources can be limited in the village. I don't have any corporate training or a big office staff. It’s just me and my measuring tape and my knowledge of how things work. I’ve been part of this community for a long time, so I care about the work I do here. The roads can be dusty and the sun can be quite hot, but I enjoy being out in the field. It’s a slow and steady kind of life, and I’m glad I can use my skills to help build up my own neighborhood. People know I’m fair and that I’ll give them a straight answer about their building plans even if it's not what they want to hear.
