Himatnagar is a steady sort of place, and our high school fits right into that rhythm. We are located at the 383001 pincode area, and we’ve been part of this community for a long time. The building is a bit older now, with some cracks in the plaster here and there, but it’s sturdy and serves us well. Every morning, the hallways fill up with students heading to their assigned rooms. We don't have any air conditioning, so the windows stay wide open to catch whatever wind comes through Himatnagar. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood—dogs barking, vendors calling out, and the general hum of the town—right through the classroom walls. The teachers have their own way of doing things, usually sticking to the old-fashioned methods because that’s what works best for us. We have a small library that is mostly full of old textbooks and some stories, and the kids actually spend quite a bit of time there. It’s a no-nonsense environment. We expect the students to show up on time and do their work. There aren’t any fancy perks or high-tech labs, just a lot of hard work and the same old bell ringing every hour. It’s a place where children grow up and eventually send their own kids back to us. That’s just the way it has always been here, and we don't see that changing anytime soon.
