Shri C D Patel High School

Shri C D Patel High School is right in the middle of Talod. This is a small town in the Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. Life here is mostly about farming and small shops, so the school is a central part of the community. We have been here for many years. The building is a bit dusty because of the roads, but it’s a sturdy place. We don’t have a fancy website or a big PR department. It’s just us teachers and the staff making sure the kids have somewhere to go. Sabarkantha is a quiet place for the most part. At the high school, we follow the usual schedule. We ring the bell, have our classes, and then everyone goes home. It isn't a complicated operation. We know the parents and we know the kids because Talod is the kind of place where you can't really be a stranger for long. The classrooms have seen better days, but they serve their purpose well enough. We don't make big promises or talk about being the best. We just do the teaching that needs to be done. Sometimes the cows wander near the gates, and the sun gets really hot in the afternoon. It’s just a regular life at a regular school in rural Gujarat. We are okay with that. It’s honest work for the people living in this part of Sabarkantha. We just keep things moving along year after year.
