S J Padhiyar High School

S J Padhiyar High School has been around for quite a while now in Savgadh. It is just a regular school where kids from the Himatnagar area come every morning. You can find us easily if you know the 383001 neighborhood. The building itself is an older one, with those thick walls that stay cool in the summer but get a bit drafty when the wind picks up. We have a routine that starts early and ends when the afternoon sun is at its hottest. Teachers usually pull up on their scooters or walk in from the nearby houses. It is not one of those fancy places you see in the cities with glass walls and air conditioning. We have simple classrooms with wooden desks that have seen plenty of use over the years. You can still see names carved into the wood from students who were here ten years ago. The playground is mostly just a patch of dirt where the kids play kabaddi or cricket during their breaks. When it rains, it gets pretty muddy, but that is just how it is. We try to keep things organized, but with so many students, there is always a bit of noise and a few papers flying around. The bell is an old iron one that someone has to hit with a hammer to let everyone know the period is over. It is a loud, honest sound that everyone in Savgadh probably recognizes by now. We just do our work and look after the kids.
