Jindal Steel Corporation

Jindal Steel Corporation is tucked away in Vivekanand Market over in Motia Khan. Being in the Fatehgarh Sahib district, we get a mix of people coming in from the town and the surrounding rural areas. The market is always a bit chaotic with people moving around and vendors calling out. Our space is mostly filled with steel rods, sheets, and whatever else has come in for the week. It’s heavy work, and we all have the callouses to prove it. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people usually just hear about us from someone else in the market. The office is just a small corner with a wooden table and a few chairs where we handle the paperwork. Sometimes it gets a bit cold in the winter because the warehouse doors stay open for the loading crews. We don’t mind it much. We’ve been here long enough that the noise of the market feels like background music. It’s a very practical sort of life. You wake up, check the inventory, and see who needs steel today. There are a lot of other businesses nearby, so we often go out for tea with the neighbors when there's a break in the work. It’s a tight-knit community here in Motia Khan. We just focus on keeping the steel moving and making sure the piles stay organized for the next day.
