Usha Martin Ltd

We are set up at El-113 in the Basanti Colony area of Rourkela. Since this is a company quarter, it has a very lived-in feel to it. It’s not your typical glass-and-steel office building. We’ve got our desks pushed against the walls to make room for all the paperwork and small samples. Working here for Usha Martin means we are right in the heart of the community. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood throughout the day, which is actually quite nice. It makes the workday feel less isolated. We handle a lot of the local logistics and support for the steel industries around here. Sometimes the internet is slow, and we have to do things over the phone instead. We don’t really have a reception area, so if someone comes by, they just pull up a chair wherever there is space. It’s informal. We focus on getting the details right for the wire rope orders. Every now and then, we have to move boxes around to find a specific document. It might look a bit cluttered to an outsider, but we know where everything is. We keep it simple because that’s what works best for us and the people we deal with. It’s just a group of us trying to keep the supply chain moving without making a big deal out of it. We take pride in just being reliable every day.
