Swadraja

Swadraja is tucked into the Geeta Complex here in Rohtak. We are right near the ViceRoy hotel, so people use that as a landmark to find us. The complex can get a bit crowded during the day with all the different shops and people coming and going. We have been in this spot for a while now. The building is made of solid concrete and it stays fairly cool even when the sun is beating down outside. Inside, we have enough space for a few families to sit down at once. It’s not a huge place, but it works for us. My brother and I handle most of the daily stuff. We buy our supplies from the local market nearby because it’s easier than getting things delivered. You can hear the sounds of the street from the front door—rickshaws honking and people talking. We don’t have a fancy menu printed on thick paper, just a simple list of what we’re cooking that day. Sometimes we change things up if we find something good at the market, but mostly we stick to what we know. The chairs are plastic and easy to wipe down. We spend a lot of our time just cleaning and prepping for the next day. It’s a lot of manual work, but it’s what we do. Rohtak is a busy place, and being in Geeta Complex keeps us right in the middle of everything. It's just a regular life for us here.
