Star Highway Dhaba

You can find Star Highway Dhaba about 10 kilometers out from Rohtak. We are situated on National Highway 10, right near Village Smaila. It's a dusty spot sometimes because of all the trucks and cars passing by at high speeds. We are close to Fauji Dhaba too. Running a place on the highway is different than being inside the city. Things never really stop out here. We see people from all over who are just passing through on long journeys. It’s a simple building with no frills. We don't have fancy lights or air conditioning that works all the time. It’s just a place to sit and eat. We do all the cooking and cleaning ourselves. It’s hard work, especially when the summer sun is beating down on the open highway. We’ve been here at the 124001 mark for a long time. The local villagers from Smaila often stop by to say hello. We don't use a lot of fancy words to talk about what we do. We are just a dhaba. We wake up early to get the stoves going and we stay open until the traffic finally thins out late at night. Sometimes the highway gets blocked or there's some construction, and things get very slow. Other times it's a non-stop rush of hungry people. We just take it as it comes. It's a plain life but it's ours. We aren't a big chain, just a local stop on the road.
