Shiksha Bharti Vidyalaya

Shiksha Bharti Vidyalaya is situated right in Rohtak. It’s a straightforward school, nothing too over the top. We’ve been in this area for a good number of years now. The building is a standard brick structure with a courtyard in the middle. During the morning assembly, all the students line up in rows according to their height. You can hear the principal talking over the old microphone system. The classrooms have wooden desks that have names carved into them from students who left years ago. We still use chalkboards mostly because they are reliable. The teachers go from room to room with their attendance registers under their arms. It’s a busy atmosphere, especially during the exam months when everyone is stressed out. We have a small library, but the books are quite old and have that specific paper smell. Rohtak weather can be tough, either very dusty or very muddy depending on the season. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that spin as fast as they can to move the air around. At the end of the day, the kids rush out the main gate, and the janitors start sweeping up the dust. It’s just a regular school where people come to learn and then head home to their families. There isn't much more to it than that, just daily lessons and bells.
