H.D. Sr. Sec. School

H.D. Sr. Sec. School in Salahawas has been a part of this Jhajjar neighborhood for a good while. You can find us right at the address in 124146, where the local kids come every morning. The building is just a normal structure with classrooms spread out over a couple of floors. We have desks that have seen better days, but they do the job just fine. During the summers, the overhead fans hum all day long to keep the heat away. The teachers here mostly live in the surrounding villages, so they walk or take the bus to get to work. We have a small courtyard where students gather for the morning line-up. It gets a bit noisy when the classes change, with everyone shuffling their feet and talking in the hallways. There is no big cafeteria, so most children bring their own tiffin boxes filled with rotis and sabzi from home. We spend a lot of time making sure the blackboards are clean and the chalk is ready for the next lesson. In the rainy season, the road outside gets a bit muddy, but the kids don't seem to mind much as they run inside. We have a few trees in the corner of the lot that provide some shade during the break times. It’s a simple setup we have here in Salahawas, focusing on getting through the lessons day by day without much fuss. Everyone knows everyone, which makes it feel like a community.
