Micro Turners

You can find Micro Turners over at No. 514/2 in Salara Mohalla. It’s a tucked-away spot, but we like it that way. We do a lot of small-scale machining and turning here. The workshop is usually filled with the sound of lathes and the smell of cutting oil. It’s a bit cramped inside because we’ve added more equipment over time. We started with just one machine and a couple of us working long hours. Now we have a few more hands on deck. Most of the work involves precise parts that go into bigger machines. It takes a lot of patience to get the measurements right. We don't do much advertising. Most people find us through word of mouth in the mohalla. Sometimes a local guy brings in a broken part to see if we can fix it. We take a look and do what we can. The floor is always covered in metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just the nature of the work. We usually have tea together in the afternoon while the machines cool down. It’s a quiet routine but we enjoy it. We’ve been in this part of town for a long time. People know us as the guys who are always busy with their tools. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s honest work that pays the bills.
