Out here in the RIICO Industrial Area in Deoli, things are pretty industrial and busy. Our place, Flemingo Natural Stone Pvt. Ltd., is at Plot No. 114 H. It’s a big open plot in Tonk where we keep all our natural stone. The ground is mostly dirt and stone dust, which is what you expect in this kind of area. We spend our days managing the blocks and making sure the loading is done right. Rajasthan gets very hot, especially in the summer months, so we have to plan our heavy work for the cooler parts of the day. We don't have a fancy front office or a showroom with air conditioning. It is just an industrial yard filled with tons of rock. Some of these blocks are huge and require a lot of effort to move even a little bit. We handle all sorts of natural stones that come from the quarries nearby. Sometimes the yard looks a bit cluttered when a new shipment arrives, but we try to keep it as organized as possible. We know most of the people working in the other plots around us. It is hard, physical work that involves a lot of lifting and moving. We don't spend much time on anything other than getting the stone ready to be sent out. It is a straightforward operation without any bells or whistles. We just show up every day and get to work on the stone until the sun goes down.
