Giet, Gunupur

Ambica Patnaik is usually who you’ll find handling things here at the Giet campus in Gunupur. We are located out in the Rayagada district of Orissa, which is a bit of a trek for some, but it's where we've set up shop. The Training and Placement Cell is where a lot of the activity happens. It’s a busy office, mostly filled with folders, student lists, and a phone that doesn’t seem to stop ringing. We spend a lot of time sitting at these desks trying to coordinate between the students and the people who might want to hire them. Being in a place like Gunupur means we have to work a bit harder to stay connected, but the internet helps. It’s not a corporate headquarters; it’s more like a school office that grew bigger over time. We have students coming in at all hours asking about their futures, and we just try to be helpful. Sometimes the power goes out or the heat gets a bit much, but that’s just life in this part of Orissa. The Pin code is 765022 if you’re trying to mail us something, though most people just show up. We don't have any big speeches to give. We just show up, open the doors, and see what needs doing for the day. It's a lot of paperwork and talking, but it keeps us busy and the campus is a good place to be.
