Suresh Hair Cutting Saloon

Suresh Hair Cutting Saloon has been on Harmu Road in Ranchi for quite some time now. It’s a straightforward shop. We don’t have any fancy air conditioning or leather sofas. Just some sturdy chairs and sharp scissors. The road outside is always busy with cycles and cars going by. We see a lot of people from the nearby areas who just want a decent haircut without paying too much. Most of our regulars are men who have been coming to Suresh for years. They bring their sons now. It’s a small place, maybe a bit cramped when three people are waiting, but everyone is patient. We listen to the radio while we work. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but the mirrors are clean. That’s what matters. We open early in the morning and stay late into the evening. Ranchi gets hot, so we have a couple of fans going all day. There’s no big story here, just a local barber shop doing its thing. We know most people by name. Harmu Road is our home. We don’t do any fancy styling, just the usual cuts and shaves. It’s honest work. If the shop is full, people just stand outside and chat until a chair opens up. Sometimes the neighbor’s dog sits right by our door, watching the people go by. We don't have a lot of space for stuff that isn't needed for cutting hair. Every morning, we start by cleaning the combs and setting up the station. It’s a routine we’ve had for a long time.
