Sri Sai Tent & Caterer

Out at Karma Chowk near Singh More in Hatia, you’ll find our place, Sri Sai Tent & Caterer. We do both the setup and the food, which keeps us doubly busy. Most of our days are spent loading poles and cloth onto the back of the truck, along with the huge gas cylinders for the kitchen. Hatia is a growing area, so there’s always a new house being built or a wedding being planned. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. We’re usually out on the field, hammering stakes into the ground or checking on the curry pots. It’s a physically demanding job, and by the end of the day, we’re usually covered in dust and grease. We don't have any scripted sales pitches. If a neighbor needs a tent for a small gathering and some snacks to go with it, we just tell them the price and get to work. The crew we have is a tough bunch; they can set up a whole pandal in a few hours if they have to. We’ve learned over the years that things rarely go perfectly—a bulb might blow or the wind might pick up—but we just fix it and keep going. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Ranchi. We just want to make sure that when someone hires us in Hatia, they don’t have to worry about where their guests are going to sit or what they are going to eat.
