Singh & Sahay

Up in Pirra Ratu, Singh & Sahay has been operating as a bit of a local fixture. It’s a partnership that started because we both liked being around food and saw that people needed decent catering in this area. We aren't one of those big city companies that charges for every little thing. We just talk to the person hosting the event, figure out what they can afford, and see what kind of menu fits. Pirra is a bit quieter than the center of town, which gives us space to set up our big outdoor stoves when we have a massive order. We spend a lot of time on the road because our jobs take us all over the outskirts. The weather can be a real pain sometimes, especially during the monsoon when we have to worry about keeping the wood dry for the fires. We mostly use local suppliers for our grains and vegetables because it’s easier than hauling stuff from far away. Our team isn't very big, just a handful of dependable people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. We don’t have a glossy brochure to show you. If you want to know how we work, you usually just come by and see the kitchen for yourself. We’re usually there early in the morning, getting the first round of tea and prep work started before the sun gets too high. It’s just how we live.
