Shamsul Salon

Shamsul Salon is over in Irba, Ranchi, on S B Road. We are quite close to Apollo Hospital, which defines a lot of our daily business. You see many people walking back and forth from the hospital grounds. Some of them come in because they have been staying at the hospital with a relative for a long time and just need to feel a bit more like themselves again. It’s a small shop, nothing too fancy or modern. I keep the towels clean and the water ready. The area can get a bit muddy when it rains, so I spend a lot of time cleaning the floor. Ranchi has its own pace, and here in Irba, it feels a bit slower than the main city center. I don't have a big team of barbers. It’s just me and sometimes my brother helps out when he is around. We do hair cutting and basic shaving. There are no computer systems or fancy booking apps here; you just walk in and wait your turn on the wooden bench. I have a small mirror for the back so people can check the cut, but most regulars don't even bother looking anymore because they trust the work I do. It’s a simple way to make a living and it keeps us connected to the people living and working in this part of town every day.
