I’m located over at Kutchery Road, right in the Shree Gopal Complex. If you head up to the fourth floor, you’ll find me at 4 A. It’s a bit of a trek up there, but the view of the street is okay. Most people know the Raj Hotel nearby, so that’s usually the best landmark to use if you’re coming over for the first time. The office isn’t anything too special. It’s just a workspace with the usual furniture and plenty of books and papers scattered around. Ranchi can get quite hot, but the building stays relatively cool. I spend a lot of time here during the week. Kutchery Road is always buzzing with activity, so there is never a dull moment outside the window. I’ve tried to keep the place organized, but sometimes things get a bit messy when it’s busy. That’s just how it goes when you’re working hard. There are other businesses on the same floor, so you hear people coming and going throughout the day. It’s a lived-in kind of building. Not one of those glass-and-steel towers. It has a bit of character, I think. I’ve been in this spot for a while now and I’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s a good place to be if you want to be near the heart of the city’s business district. I keep regular hours and usually have the kettle on if anyone stops by.
