Up here in Ranchi, our office is in the Lower Burdwan Compound, specifically near Gulmohar Park in Lalpur. It’s a pretty well-known spot in town. We work on software and data stuff, so it’s mostly just us and our keyboards. The area is usually busy with students and people going to the markets. We’ve got a modest space where we keep our servers and computers. It’s not a high-tech lab from a movie, just a room with good enough lighting and some old chairs. We start the day around ten usually, and the first thing we do is check the emails. Sometimes the power goes out in Lalpur, and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. We drink a lot of local tea and talk about what’s happening in the city. Most of the staff grew up around here, so we aren't strangers to each other. We don't have a dress code or anything formal. If it’s raining hard, we might be a bit late because the roads get messy. We just do our bit of coding or data entry and try to stay organized. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone like that. We just focus on the projects we have on our desks. It’s honest work in a familiar neighborhood. We just keep our heads down and get the coding done as best as we can.
