Ramesh Hiar Cutting Salon

Ramesh Hiar Cutting Salon is located out in Irba, on the outskirts of Ranchi. It’s a bit quieter out here compared to the main city, which I like. I’ve been working in this shop for a long time. The address is 835219, and most people around here know exactly where it is. It’s a small room with a large window that looks out onto the street. I spend a lot of my day watching people go by on their cycles or motorbikes while I wait for the next customer. Inside, I have a few basic tools. I have my favorite pair of scissors that I’ve used for years; they fit my hand just right. The shop is simple, with just a couple of chairs and a wooden bench for waiting. There’s usually a bit of music playing on a small radio in the corner to keep things from being too quiet during the slow hours. People from the village come in, and we talk about the crops or the weather. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy, and the water leaks a little near the door, but I just put a cloth there and keep going. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. It’s just a place to get your hair cut by someone you know. I take pride in making sure everyone leaves looking a bit neater. It’s steady work in Irba and I like the people here very much.
