Prakash Tent House

Prakash Tent House is located on Lower Chutia Road in Samlong. We are right near the Saraswati Shishu Mandir school chowk. Being near a school means there are always kids and parents around, especially in the afternoons. Our work is mostly outdoors. We deal with tents, chairs, lighting, and all the stuff needed to make an empty space look like a venue. It’s physically demanding. We spend a lot of time loading and unloading the vehicles. Ranchi weather can be unpredictable, so we always have to watch the clouds while we are working. If it starts raining while we are setting up, it’s a total mess. But we’ve done it so many times now that we have a rhythm. We aren't interested in being the biggest company in town. We just want to do our job and go home to our families. The storage area is full of carpets and poles that have seen many years of use. Sometimes we have to repair things on the spot with whatever we have on hand. It’s a local business and we treat it that way. We know the shortcuts around Chutia to avoid the worst traffic when we are in a hurry. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy through every season of the year. Whether it is a small family dinner or a larger public gathering, we just pack the gear and head out to the site. It is what we know.
