New Style Karu Hair Cutting Saloon has been a part of Hatia for quite some time now. We are located right on the Main Road in Ranchi, so you can't really miss us if you are traveling through this part of town. It’s a traditional barber shop. We have the old-style chairs that have been around for years because they are comfortable and they work. The walls are covered with a few mirrors and maybe some old posters. It’s a place where men from all over Ranchi come to get a shave and a haircut. There is always a bit of talk going on about local politics or cricket. We don't have a fancy waiting room; you just sit where you find a spot and wait your turn. The "New Style" in the name is a bit old now, but we kept it because that is how everyone knows us. Hatia is a busy area with the railway station nearby, so we get a lot of people just passing through as well as our regular locals. We don't use any fancy booking systems. You just walk in, say hello, and wait. The scissors and razors are the most important things here. We keep them clean and sharp. It’s a simple business, no frills, just honest work from morning until we close the shutters at night. That is how we’ve always done it here in Ranchi.
