New Kaya Ladies Beauty Parlour

We are tucked away in Sainik Colony in the Booti area of Ranchi. It is a bit quieter here than in the main city, which is nice. The parlour is part of my house actually, so it has a very homey feel. I started it about five years ago. Mostly, I get neighbors coming in for their regular grooming. I do everything myself, from hair cutting to facials. Sometimes my daughter helps with the cleaning. I have a small cabinet where I keep all the scissors and creams. The room is painted light pink, though the paint is peeling a bit in the corners. It’s not a fancy salon with big glass windows. It is just a comfortable space where you can relax. I don't follow any strict schedule, but I'm usually around from ten in the morning. If the gate is closed, you just have to knock. The chairs are just basic office chairs I repurposed. I find that people like coming here because they don't feel rushed. We can sit and have a cup of tea while the henna on the hair dries. It is a small way to earn a living and help the ladies nearby look a bit better. The road outside can get a bit muddy during the monsoon, but it’s easy to find once you enter the colony. We have a few plants near the entrance that I water every evening to keep it looking nice.
