New Gents Parlour

New Gents Parlour is right here in Mesra, Ranchi, not too far from the B I T College. If you walk down the road, you’ll see the sign. It’s a simple place with a few chairs and mirrors that have been there for a while. Usually, the day starts with sweeping the front area because the dust from the road settles overnight. The fans keep the place cool enough when the sun gets hot outside. Most people from the college or the nearby houses just drop in when they have time. There isn't a fancy waiting room, just some benches where people sit and talk or look at their phones while waiting for a turn. We keep the scissors and combs in jars on the counter. The lights are bright so we can see what we are doing clearly. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when the street traffic picks up, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of the clippers and people chatting. We’ve been at this address, 835215, for some time now and it feels like part of the neighborhood. The towels are always being washed and hung out to dry in the back. It’s not a big operation, just a local spot where you can get a haircut without any fuss. People know the way to the shop once they see the college gates. It is a practical space for everyday grooming. The combs are old but clean, and the apron we use has a few small stains from years of use.
